Getting therapy for children has almost become trendy. In some cases, counseling can be a great help with your single parenting efforts. How can you decide if your child needs therapy?

First, has your living situation drastically changed? Maybe you just moved to a new residence and your kids had to change schools. A divorce and not seeing the other parent as often can be very difficult for kids. Any situation that involves major changes for your kids can be a good time for a few therapy sessions to help them adjust. If you are in the middle of a custody battle is involved, you will want the kids to be in therapy to give them a trusted adult to process their feelings with and to aid you legally.

Problems in school can be another red flag.
