Single Parent Dating - Should You Keep Dating Someone when You're Unsure About the Potential for a Future Together?

Are you a single parent dating someone in spite of the fact that you are uncertain whether there could be a future with him or her? If you've been dating this person for a peiod of months? It's time that you carefully consider why you are in the relationship and if you should remain.

Sometimes, a dating single parent can have such a busy schedule, that you may continue in a relationship that isn't really meeting your needs because up haven't stopped long enough to think about the direction of your relationship. Since your schedule is so full, do you really want to waste time dating someone who is not the right person for you?

Think about whether you see this person as a romantic partner or just as a friend. If friend is the answer, then you need to let the other person know of your feelings. It's really not fair to your date to keep seeing him or her if you don't have romantic intentions, unless you have discussed the situation and agreed to date as friends. Give the other person and yourself the opportunity to meet someone special. You both may choose to continue spending time together as friends.

Are you seeing your date just to have a social life? Maybe you really don't care for this person as a date or as a friend, but you don't want to sit home alone. Again, you owe it to your date and yourself to stop seeing him or her if you aren't really interested in any kind of relationship. Find friends to do go out with, or you can even go out by yourself. You actually may meet a special someone while you are out alone, since many people are afraid to talk with members of the opposite sex that are with a group.

Maybe you really like this person, but there is something in your gut telling you that he or she isn't the one. Often, we subconsciously know that something is wrong with a relationship before we consciously admit it. Pay attention to your feelings, as they usually are correct.
